A Recipe for Homemade Burfee:
500g klim powder
125 g butter
2 tsp elachi powder
1 can nestle dessert cream
3 cups icing sugar
METHOD
In a bowl mix klim, melted butter and elachi,it should have a bread crumbs texture.
In a pot heat the dessert cream,once warm add icing sugar a little at a time and mixing throughout.
Once all sugar is in and mixed well add half the klim mixture and mix well, will be lumpy at this point. Add in the rest of the klim and mix,mix,mix(work those arms) until mixture pulls away from the pan.
Add a large piece of baking paper on your table or counter top and plop burfee mixture on top, place another piece of baking paper on top and roll out with a rolling pin into a rectangle or square. Once you have your desired shape add coloured slivered almonds and edible gold or silver decorations.
Put in the fridge until firm and then you can slice into squares or any desired shapes
